Pragya Singh Thakur, BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Bhopal and charged with Malegaon terror blast case, kindled political lines by calling Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi, a patriot. Her statement filled many politicians with anger at the time of the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections.
Her statement was highly criticised by the opposition parties, while the ruling BJP was tight-lipped on her statement. Later, Thakur tendered an apology for her statement.
Reacting to her comment, B-town actor Arjun Kapoor in a recent interview said that people are campaigning only for votes and there is no sense of responsibility. The actor further said that he hasn’t witnessed any politicians talking about education, economy, climate change or health, rather are pulling issues from the past.
Arjun said that he will be surprised if politicians start raising issue about global warming and its impact on farmers. On the professional front, Arjun Kapoor will be on screen in Raj Kumar Gupta’s ‘India’s Most Wanted’. Arjun plays an undercover intelligence officer, who is on a mission to chase one of the India’s most wanted terror operative. The film will be in theatres on May 24.
