Chelsea and Belgium no.1 Thibaut Courtois did not report for training with his Premier League club side on Monday, amid reports of him being linked with Spanish side Real Madrid.

As per the reports, the London based side do not know when their 26-year-old goalkeeper will return to the club.

It was in 2011 that Chelsea signed Courtois from the Belgium side Genk and then loaned him out to Atletico Madrid.

Courtois won the golden glove for his performances in the FIFA World Cup held at Russia, as Belgium finished third after defeating England in the third-place match.

Courtois has featured in Chelsea blues for 154 matches, conceding 152 goal and has keeping 58 clean sheets.

Chelsea’s talisman Eden Hazard is also linked with a move to Real Madrid, but have attended the training with the Blues on Monday.

Maurizio Sarri, the new manager for the London-based side on Friday said that he was unsure whether the Belgium no.1 would stay with the club.

Argentine Willy Caballero started in goal in Sunday’s Community Shield match against Manchester City. Chelsea were beaten 2-0 by Pep Guardiola’s City side, with Aguero finding the back of the net twice.

After Sunday’s defeat, Chelsea boss Sarri said, “I want to hear from Courtois tomorrow (Monday). I want only players with a very high level of motivation.”

Chelsea won the FA Cup last season against Manchester United, under former manager Antonio Conte. They finished 5th in the league and failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Following the FA Cup win over Manchester United, Chelsea goalkeeper Courtois urged the Chelsea board to invest in the squad.
